The photos follow up on an earlier video from April that featured some beige prototype units. This time around, the darker tones help highlight the physical design details a bit more clearly.
One of the biggest differences spotted is the larger rear camera module. The camera array seems to take up more space on the back, and the flash has been moved further to the right. Also worth noting is the slight repositioning of the Apple logo — it looks like it’s been nudged down a bit, possibly to make room for MagSafe alignment.
Thicker Than Expected?
While many phone makers are focusing on slimmer designs — like the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge and the rumored iPhone 17 Air — the iPhone 17 Pro seems a bit chunkier. From the angles shown in the leaked images, it doesn’t look like Apple is shaving off any thickness this time around. Not long after the dummy unit photos surfaced, Majin Bu posted a short clip showing what appears to be a MagSafe case designed for the iPhone 17 Pro. It’s a transparent case with the usual magnetic ring on the back. The most noticeable detail? The camera bump on the case is massive. Expect your phone to wobble on flat surfaces — again.
Color Rumors Swirl Around the iPhone 17 Lineup
On the color front, we’ve got some early rumors, though none specifically tied to the Pro models just yet. A leak from another source, yeux1122, shared alleged camera covers pointing to five colors for the base iPhone 17 (black, blue, silver, purple, and green) and four for the new slimmer iPhone 17 Air (black, light blue, light gold, and silver).
There’s speculation the iPhone 17 Pro could come in a sky blue finish, but that’s still unconfirmed.
