It looks like 2025 still isn’t done testing the internet’s patience. Just days after Roblox experienced a global outage, YouTube is now facing widespread disruption, leaving users across the world frustrated and refreshing their screens.
Reports of YouTube not working properly began flooding in from multiple regions, with users complaining about slow loading times, playback delays, and complete service interruptions.

YouTube Outage Reports Surge Worldwide
According to data from DownDetector, the scale of the YouTube outage grew rapidly within a short span of time.
At the time this report was prepared:
- 73% of users reported issues accessing the YouTube website
- 18% faced video streaming problems
- 9% experienced issues with the YouTube app
The number of outage reports jumped sharply from 3,500 to over 7,000, and the trend showed no signs of slowing down. Soon after, the total crossed 11,000 reports globally, confirming that this was not an isolated issue.
YouTube Outage in India: What Users Are Facing
India was not spared from the disruption. As per DownDetector data, around 3,336 users in India reported problems while using YouTube.
Here’s how those complaints break down:
- 53% reported server connection issues
- 34% faced website access problems
- 13% experienced video playback issues
To verify these claims, the team at Times Now Tech tested YouTube directly. The platform loaded noticeably slower than usual, even though other websites worked fine. Video playback also suffered, with visible delays and buffering issues.
In short, YouTube was technically online, but far from usable for many users.
Google Search Also Affected
YouTube wasn’t the only Google service struggling. Google Search also experienced downtime, adding to user frustration.
More than 11,000 complaints related to Google services appeared on DownDetector, indicating a broader technical issue rather than a YouTube-only problem.
As expected, social media platforms quickly filled up with posts from users reporting errors, slow performance, and jokes about “another day, another outage.”
What’s Next?
As of now, Google has not released an official statement explaining the cause of the outage or confirming a timeline for a full fix. Given the rising number of reports, users may continue to experience intermittent issues until services stabilize.
If history is any indication, Google typically resolves such disruptions quickly. Still, with outages becoming more frequent across major platforms this year, users are once again reminded how dependent daily life has become on a stable internet.
