Vivo has officially launched two new smartphones in India—the X Fold5 and the X200 FE—both positioned within the brand’s high-end X series. The phones were unveiled on July 14 and will be available starting later this month. With ZEISS-powered cameras, high-end internals, and modern design choices, Vivo is aiming to make a strong impression in both the foldable and flagship spaces.

X Fold5: A Refined Foldable Experience

The Vivo X Fold5 is the more premium of the two, targeting users who want top-tier specs in a foldable form. It features an 8.03-inch 2K+ foldable AMOLED display inside, with a 6.53-inch cover screen, both supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate. Vivo has also added Armor Glass (Gen 2) protection to the outer display, along with IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance and IP5X for dust resistance.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on Android 15 with Vivo’s custom FuntouchOS 15 skin on top.

One of the standout features is the 6000mAh battery, which uses advanced semi-solid-state battery technology and supports 80W wired charging, 40W wireless, and reverse wireless charging. Vivo claims this battery can operate even in temperatures as low as -30°C, which is not something you often hear from smartphones.

There are 50MP telephoto and 50MP ultra-wide lenses on the camera front, in addition to the 50MP primary camera (Sony IMX921 sensor) with OIS. Additionally, there are two 20MP front cameras for taking selfies and making video calls: one on the main screen and one on the cover screen.

The 16GB + 512GB model of the X Fold5 costs ₹1,49,999 and has a Titanium Grey color. Pre-orders are now being accepted, and the gadget will be accessible through offline retailers, Flipkart, and Vivo’s online store starting on July 23.

X200 FE: A Premium Flagship with a Practical Touch

If foldables aren’t your thing, the Vivo X200 FE is a smartphone with high-end features. This phone is a powerful tool, and it costs ₹54,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model and ₹59,999 for the 16GB + 512GB version.

A good option for content consumption, the tablet boasts a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 5000 nits. With LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, it is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor.

Similar to its foldable sister, the X200 FE has ZEISS optics, which include a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP primary camera. Autofocus is supported by the 50MP front camera for crisper selfies.

Another advantage is the long battery life, which has a 6500mAh capacity and compatibility for 90W rapid charging. With its IP68 and IP69 classifications, the phone is also long-lasting and capable of withstanding exposure to high water and temperatures as high as 80°C.

It will go on sale on July 30 and come in Frost Blue, Luxe Grey, and Amber Yellow.

Final Thoughts

Vivo is establishing itself as a formidable competitor in the foldable and high-end smartphone markets with the release of the X Fold5 and X200 FE. These two phones cater to both types of consumers, whether you’re searching for a flagship with a lot of power or a futuristic folding screen. Pre-orders are currently open, and it would be interesting to observe how these new products are received by the Indian market.
